Hello friends,
Over the past month I have become involved in a new start-up company developed by Temple graduate, Dave Silver. Dave’s original conception began in the basement of his fraternity basement, AEPi on Norris and Broad St; rightfully titled “Broad Street Lounge”. He began inviting any and all folks interested in a performing a slot on the stage. A year and a half later, that idea has grown exponentially into a full-fledge production team with the goal in mind to “Discover the Undiscovered”.
Tomorrow marks the day that BSMG comes to life and the beginning of the official website, broadstmusicgroup.com. The website will showcase events that BSMG holds at various venues throughout the city and feature new and upcoming artists. It will also feature the BSMG services that range from photography/videography to booking to promotions and related press.
The launch event will be held at the legendary Sigma Sound Studios on 12th and Race, a studio where greats like The Roots, Jill Scott, and even David Bowie have recorded.
At 8 p.m. the doors will open to the world where people can discover new music and have a great time with free food and drinks as well as sponsors like 96.5 The Wired. You’ll also be able to walk away with a free mixtape of all the artists who performed during the night, some of those include:
Dayseam
Mic Stew
E-Hos and Patrick Donovan
Carerra Shante
City Magic
…and many more
See the facebook event to view the full lineup here
Be sure to get there early for the free food which will include spicy meatballs, spinach dip, and baked macaroni and cheese bites, all homemade (i’m drooling). Also there will be free alcohol samples as well and an ICE LUGE! This event is all ages but you must be 21 to drink.
You may RSVP here and purchase tickets until tomorrow for $10, and then $15 at the door. You can do so here.
Hope to see you there!
