Fashion Photoshoot with Giulia

My friend Giulia is revamping her fashion blog and asked me to take some shots of her, and I was super excited to help! She told me about some old train track she wanted to go to and I was definitely intrigued. Turns out if you go through a broken gate and walk up a thorn-y, rocky hill you will find this majestical old train track with a gorgeous view of Center City. The air was warm and crisp and the light was perfect. Check out some of the fierce photos shot for The Special Sauce!

Baby and Family Photoshoot (The Stones)

I recently had the opportunity to do my first baby portrait and family portrait session! It was exciting because everything was up to me. I got to figure out the background, the lighting, the positions. It was a bit nerve wracking at times continuously having to think on my feet and try to be creative. I definitely learned a lot about drafting a contract, pricing, working with natural light vs. working with studio lighting, and just working with various types of people.

CJ turned 1 year old and his mom, Zawadi had an adorable idea to knit him different outfits of characters from Dr. Seuss novels! He was the Lorax, the Grinch, and Thing 3, absolutely adorable! She also baked a cake and put it in front of CJ, and we just sat back and waited for the madness to begin! He didn’t go too crazy but put anything messy in front of a one-year-old and you’re bound to get some funny faces.

And you can also see CJ in a few shots with his mom and dad 🙂

Concerts from December-Present

Well hello there!

It’s been quite a while since I have posted anything on here. I have been doing a lot of photography work but I also recently started my first “real job” out of college, so that has kept me fairly busy! I’m going to be posting a few different things, first I’d like to show the concerts that I have photographed for WXPN since December.

Enjoy!

Sarah & Zach-October 5, 2013

I have been lucky enough to become the second shooter for Kristen Kidd Photography and on a gorgeous day in October we photographed the wedding of Sarah and Zach. They met through mutual friends a couple of years ago and last year around Christmas became engaged. Zach is the drummer in popular punk rock band, Daylight. The wedding took place in the small chapel right next to Zach’s parents house and the reception followed in the dining hall.

Kishi Bashi at First Unitarian Sanctuary

On Saturday evening, the First Unitarian Sanctuary was used for something other than prayer. People filed into the pews of the Church and sat enjoying the graceful musings of Philadelphia based singer/songwriter Birdie Busch followed by Brooklyn-based songstress, Elizabeth Ziman of … Continue reading

Broad Street Music Group Launch

Hello friends,

Over the past month I have become involved in a new start-up company developed by Temple graduate, Dave Silver. Dave’s original conception  began in the basement of his fraternity basement, AEPi on Norris and Broad St; rightfully titled “Broad Street Lounge”. He began inviting any and all folks interested in a performing a slot on the stage. A year and a half later, that idea has grown exponentially into a full-fledge production team with the goal in mind to “Discover the Undiscovered”.

Tomorrow marks the day that BSMG comes to life and the beginning of the official website, broadstmusicgroup.com. The website will showcase events that BSMG holds  at various venues throughout the city and feature new and upcoming artists. It will also feature the BSMG services that range from photography/videography to booking to promotions and related press.

The launch event will be held at the legendary Sigma Sound Studios on 12th and Race, a studio where greats like The Roots, Jill Scott, and even David Bowie have recorded.

At 8 p.m. the doors will open to the world where people can discover new music and have a great time with free food and drinks as well as sponsors like 96.5 The Wired. You’ll also be able to walk away with a free mixtape of all the artists who performed during the night, some of those include:

Dayseam
Mic Stew
E-Hos and Patrick Donovan
Carerra Shante
City Magic
…and many more

See the facebook event to view the full lineup here

Be sure to get there early for the free food which will include spicy meatballs, spinach dip, and baked macaroni and cheese bites, all homemade (i’m drooling). Also there will be free alcohol samples as well and an ICE LUGE! This event is all ages but you must be 21 to drink.

You may RSVP here and purchase tickets until tomorrow for $10, and then $15 at the door. You can do so here.

Hope to see you there!
